A fantastic afternoon of sport and a first home game of the season for a lot of the players in the year 3 and 4 football teams. The fixture was split with 4 teams competing in 6 a-side matches. Lots of goals were scored in the afternoon and great fun was had over the different pitches. On pitch 1 there was a very end to end, close game with Farlington taking an early lead through a great strike by Jamie. Chances were created by both teams, but Tristan stayed strong in goal and was supported well by Monty and Eddie. With 30 seconds to go, unfortunately the team conceded with the game ending 1-1. Over to pitch 2 and lots of home debuts by year 3s were appeared on this pitch. Max was a great leader in the game and made some terrific tackles and interception in defence, with Olivier and Beaux creating well moving forward but they just couldn't find the back of the net Gabriel was strong in goal, but eventually was beaten. Pitch 3 had some exciting end to end football being played, Oscar was winning the ball at every opportunity while Cruz and Sid were dribbling through the opposition in the hopes of creating chances for the team. Harry made some good saves in goal in a really open game. Pitch 4 again saw a few home debuts for year 3s and they took this into their stride and tried to play the ball forward towards the opposition goal to score at every opportunity. Finlay did well in this game trying to find some passes while Henry and Ethan made some excellent tackles in defence.
Overall, a fantastic afternoon at Farlington with 4 football matches happening and enjoyment had throughout the teams in the Lower School
