In an exciting afternoon of house sport the girls split into their houses for the first time this year. Each house had three teams that were all highly competitive.
Hawking and Parks faced off in the first round of matches. There were plenty of goals across all of the games with some excellent attacking play from Hawking resulting in a number of opportunities that were converted well by the forwards.
In the matches between Luther King and Hawking there was a big focus on defending in lots of very tight, defensive games. All of the games in this round either ended in draws or were decided by a single goal. Some excellent defending from Hawking saw them keep clean sheets in half of their games.
The final round of matches saw Parks take on Luther King in some pivotal matches for the house cup. Whilst Luther King had a number of early goals they were pegged back late on by a surge from Parks in the closing stages making for some exciting finishes. Luther King managed to hold on in the final roiund to secure some vital wins.
The afternoon was a fantastic display of sportsmanship and some excellent hockey. Parks finished in 3rd with only a point separating Hawking and Luther King with Luther King ending up the overall winners. Well done to all!
