Match Report
Farlington School Girls-U11A vs  Seaford College
On: Wednesday, 16 Oct 2024
Venue: Away

The As came up against two very well drilled and skilful teams on Wednesday. I was so impressed with the team's work rate, athleticism and perseverance. Calli and Sasha made excellent debuts, and indeed Sasha was unlucky not to score having made some great breaks.

Phoebe also made her debut in goal and showed determination and bravery in her first performance - hopefully it will not be her last.

In the first match against Seaford College, the team showed some steadfast defence before the pressure told and they conceded two goals.

In the second match against an even better side in Amesbury (who have qualified for nationals) the U11As showed real determination to get the ball wide as we have focussed on, with Tallulah making some great breaks down the right hand side. Ellie's passing from the middle of the pitch has come on leaps and bounds. Tilly and Darcy showed their all-purpose game by playing across a number of positions over the two games, and Calli and Lily were determined defenders. Unfortunately we lost 0-3.

I would like to see us absorb some of the positives from the oppositions' performances to help us continue to progress, including using the whole pitch, longer passes and importantly, communication. I have been so proud of the progress made so far this term and look forward to seeing it continue after half term.
